Tassie’s growing reputation for hosting world class conferences has been boosted further with Hobart winning the World Seabird Conference 2020. The conference attracts the world’s biggest gathering of seabird people, with the two previous conferences bringing together around 800 delegates from over 40 countries.
Other recent wins for Hobart include the Australian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) National Convention 2019, which is expected to attract around 1000 attendees. The bid had strong support from the University of Tasmania and was championed by Business Events Tasmania Ambassador, Alistair Townsend.
Hobart also recently picked up the Australian Life Underwriters and Claims Association 2018 which is expected to attract 400 delegates.
Launceston also won several bids recently including the Freelance Media Event 2018, the Wildlife Tourism Conference: “Values and challenges of wildlife tourism” 2018 and the Australian College of Neonatal Nurses (ACNN) 2018 which will attract around 400 delegates.
