New to Hobart’s bar and dining scene is the highly anticipated Frogmore Creek City that brings Frogmore Creek Winery’s food, wine and service to the Hobart waterfront. The Lounge by Frogmore Creek is an elegant, casual space designed as an extension of your living room. A Tasmanian focused lunch and dinner menu is complimented by all day snacks, concept cocktails, international and local beer and ciders and Frogmore Creek wines. Within this space is Atmosphere by Frogmore Creek – a multi-sensory dining experience with three levels of experience to choose from – the all-inclusive Atmosphere Stealth or menu only options Gold and Bronze. With no menu available, guests are asked to trust the team, and let the experience flow.
Hot on the heels of the The Point Revolving Restaurant’s ritzy reopening, is Me Wah’s new Kwan Ho restaurant at Wrest Point. Kwan Ho offers a traditional shared-dining experience, with a focus on a range of Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and other Chinese style cuisines.
Frogmore Creek City is located at the base of one of the hottest hotel openings of 2017, MACq 01 Hotel, which is also home to Hobart’s latest bar – The Story Bar which offers everything from draught beer to the finest wine and spirits . The other new girl on the block is Suzie Luck’s Canteen & Cocktail Bar — a vibrant and relaxed Pan-Asian dining experience in Salamanca. The new venture is in the restaurant formerly known as Smolt and has the same owners. Chef Joseph Koops is at the helm, serving dishes such as Bangkok chicken wings with sriracha and eggnet, spanner crab and twice-cooked pork belly.
